The December transmitter hunt kicked off at 10:00 AM at Letterman Park in Clovis, where hunters gathered for pre-hunt coordination before heading out. Rob, AE6GE, served as the fox for this month’s event and placed the transmitter deep within the central area of the new Clovis South High School campus. The location provided a fun challenge with plenty of reflections and misleading bearings.

Despite the tricky placement, our teams worked methodically and made impressive times:

1st Place: Ken, WA6OIB, and David, KO6HIX — 58 minutes
2nd Place: Joerg, KN6YGA, and Guy, KN6WET — 1 hour 55 minutes
3rd Place: Harvey, KM6YFD — 1 hour 59 minutes
4th Place: Wyatt, KO6BZX — 3 hours

As usual, after the hunt wrapped up, the group headed over to the local Me-N-Ed’s for pizza, stories, and a lively recap of the day’s strategies and surprises.
