2010 CARP Overload Award Winner
The Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers (CARP) perpetual Overload Award is given to the individual who commits an overload on the repeater or the airwaves. Basically, the operator who times-out the repeater the most.
This year’s Overload Award recipient is not new to this honor.
This individual has a habit of being a little long-winded with his radio transmissions as he is normally used to simplex operations. In early 2010 he was on the air regularly talking about and praising a radio from a new manufacturer. On this particular night he happened to be on the CARP Repeater in a discussion about the new radios. Not realizing he was on a repeater a few of his transmissions exceeded the repeaters time-out timer shutting down the repeater momentarily.
This years CARP Overload Award winner is Jerry Jackson W6KEG.
