Amateur Radio Technician Class September 2017

OFF ROAD ENTHUSIAST? CERT MEMBER? PREPPER?  INTERESTED IN ELECTRONICS?

Free Amateur Radio Technician Class.
This is the first level license class designed to help prepare you to take the Amateur Radio FCC exam. This class is not mandatory but is a great way to learn for the exam and hear real world experience. This is not a class to learn to program radios.

Some home work will be required (Homework) as to help prepare students for the test and also shorten the hours in class. Those that attend ALL CLASSES in the past have a high percentage of passing their first time.

Class Dates

  • Saturday, September 16, 2017 – 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Saturday, September 23, 2017 – 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Saturday, September 30, 2017 – 8:00am to 4:00pm*

*Exam will be on the last day of class from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Nowadays, getting power to your devices really is just as simple as plugging something into a wall outlet, but it certainly took some time and effort to get to that point. Dating back to the 1800s, the invention and further development of power distribution has led us to the world of electrical convenience great inventors like Thomas Edison dreamed of. Revised FCC Form 605 Will Ask Applicants “the Felony Question”

A revised FCC Form 605 — Quick-Form Application for Authorization in the Ship, Aircraft, Amateur, Restricted and Commercial Operator, and General Mobile Radio Services — going into effect in September will ask all applicants to indicate if they have been convicted of or pled guilty to a felony. The Communications Act obliges the Commission to ask “the felony question,” as it did on the old Form 610 and still does on other applications. This action will correct its omission on Form 605, which has existed for years. Applicants’ responses and explanations will be used to determine eligibility to be a Commission licensee. The FCC told ARRL that it’s still deciding whether to issue a public notice on the change.
