Fresno CERT Offers Accelerated Training Series August 6-13, 2016

The Fresno Citizen Corps, in partnership with the City of Fresno and the Fresno Police and Fire Departments, is pleased to announce that Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be offered in an accelerated series on Saturday, August 6 and 13, and Monday-Thursday evenings in between. The free 20-hour course is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security—Office of Individual and Community Preparedness, CaliforniaVolunteers and developed by FEMA in cooperation with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

CERT Emergency Response Training in October – Registration Open

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING OFFERED
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT SERIES
OCTOBER 13-NOVEMBER 5, 2015

The Fresno Citizen Corps, in partnership with the City of Fresno and the Fresno Police and Fire Departments, is pleased to announce that Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be offered in a Tuesday and Thursday evening series from October 13-November 5, 2015. The free 21-hour course is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security—Office of Individual and Community Preparedness, California Volunteers and developed by FEMA in cooperation with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The entry-level course is designed to provide community members with <u>basic</u> emergency response skills, particularly those that would be essential in the initial hours after a major natural or man-made disaster; and that are also valuable in the event of a fire or other more frequently occurring emergency. The course covers disaster preparedness, fire safety and small fire suppression (extinguishers), triage, disaster first aid, light search and rescue (urban), team organization/Incident Command, disaster psychology, terrorism awareness and a final exercise.

Fresno CERT Class Begins March 10, 2015

TUESDAYTHURSDAY EVENING SERIES TO BE HELD MARCH 10 – APRIL 2

The Fresno Citizen Corps, in partnership with the City and County of Fresno and the Fresno Police and Fire Departments, is pleased to announce that Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be offered in a Tuesday and Thursday evening series from March 10—April 2, 2015. The free 20-hour course is sponsored by CaliforniaVolunteers, the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA’s Office of Individual and Community Preparedness; and developed in cooperation with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The entry-level course is designed to provide basic emergency response skills, particularly those that could be essential in the initial hours after a major natural or man-made disaster; and which are also valuable in the event of a fire or other more frequently occurring emergency. The emphasis throughout the course is on preparedness and personal safety and is not intended to equip individuals to be professional rescuers.
