CARP Transmitter Hunt on Saturday November 27, 2010
Join us for the next Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers Transmitter hunt on Saturday November 27th at 3:00 pm. The hunt will start at Letterman Park in Clovis. Hunt frequency will be 146.565 Mhz. Matt KG6YLJ and Greg KG6YZN will be the foxes for this hunt.
All the participants have a lot of fun at the Transmitter hunts. No matter your skill level, come on out and have a good time. If you don’t have equipment or are inexperienced and want to participate, contact us firstname.lastname@example.org or 559-492-7675 and let us know so we can we can get someone to show you the ropes and maybe team up or ride along on the hunt.
CARP Christmas Party
Please join us on at 7:00 pm on Friday December 3rd, 2010 at the Clovis Senior Center for the annual Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers Christmas Party! There will be great food, drawings, prizes and fun. The club will be providing the main dishes, turkey, ham and beef, dessert and coffee and punch.
Admission is free, this is a pot-luck style dinner so please bring a side-dish and a 2-liter bottle of your favorite soft drink.
The main prize drawing will be the CARP “Pick Your Own Prize” Reverse style drawing. Tickets are $10.00 each and the Grand Prize is $500.00 cash. See any board member or email email@example.com for tickets.

Board of Director Nominations have Closed
Nominations for the 2011 Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers Board of Directors has closed. There were four positions up for election and we had only four nominees. Being as we only had enough nominees for the available positions, no ballots will be mailed out to the membership. A single ballot will be cast by the cub secretary at the January Annual Business meeting seating the four nominees.
CARP Annual Bussiness Meeting on Friday January 7th, 2011
The Annual Business Meeting for the Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers will be Friday, January 7th , 2011 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Clovis Senior Center. Please see the CARP website for more details and directions.
CARP 2011 T-Hunt Schedule
This is the tentative schedule for Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers (CARP) Transmitter Hunts in 2011. As more are scheduled, they will be listed on the K6ARP.org website.
The current 2011 Schedule:
- Saturday, February 5th, 2011 – 10 am
- Saturday, May 7th, 2011
- Saturday, August 6th, 2011
- Saturday, November 5th, 2011
Typically the start point will be Letterman Park in Clovis. Times and locations for the T-hunt will be posted as each date gets closer. Mark your calendars and lets do some T-huntin’!
Call for Programs
The Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers is seeking speakers and programs to be presented at an upcoming 2011 meeting. If you have a topic that you would like to speak about or know of someone or an organization that may put on a program that would be interesting for the group, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 559-492-7675.
Repeater Site Looking for Tenants
The communications site that the CARP repeater is located is looking for additional tenants. If you know of a company looking for tower space that has as great view of the central valley, please let us know so we can get them in contact with the site owner. Email to email@example.com.
The CARP website can be viewed at www.k6arp.org. The CARP website has some great amateur radio related articles and an event calendar outlining CARP and other amateur radio events. As a paid member of CARP you will receive a CARP Member Badge that is designed to attach to a lanyard. The badge not only shows that you are a member of CARP, but also has the repeater access commands printed on the reverse.

CARP Repeater System
The Clovis Amateur Radio Pioneers repeater system consists of multiple sites. The high-level site is located east of Clovis near Mile High and the low-level site is located near downtown Clovis. The repeater system is open for the amateur community to use.
