CARP Repeater System Update Report
Today members of the CARP Technical Committee, Patrick May KI6QOH and Rob Mavis AE6GE, made the trek up the hill to the check out the repeater site and do some maintenance and get the link between Clovis and Mile High back up.
The snow level was down around 3,500 on the 4-lanes and Auberry road had been freshly plowed. Around Alder Springs there were several places where the power lines were down alongside the road. Trees had fallen across the lines and power poles were snapped in two.
At the repeater site there was a good 18″ of snow on the ground. As we walked up to the building from the driveway, we sunk to past our knees in snow. After a bit of troubleshooting we were able to get the repeater link back up linking the low-level repeater, IRLP, Echolink and Phone Patch back into the system.
Only had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive once to make the first climb out of the driveway of the site. We left at the right time, it began snowing as we hit Auberry road.
Photos of the site can be seen in the CARP Photo Gallery.
